Biography of Presenter: Esther is an active Wikimedian since 2010 and a member of Amical Wikimedia since 2013. She is also an art historian and despite most of her activity is related to this field of knowledge she is also quite eager to spread the word in outreach events, which usually take place in formal and non-formal education environments.
Overview of topic: This presentation will give an overview of the usage of Wikipedia in secondary education and other non-formal environments, emphasising both the chances and challenges brought by these approaches. Several interesting projects and best practices will be shared, and the talk will wrap up with an assortment of tips, lessons learnt, and takeaways for those interested in unfolding all of Wikipedia and its sister projects' potential in educative frameworks.
