User:Ed Erhart (WMF)
I'm an American graduate student at East Carolina University, and I've been a part of the Wikimedia Foundation's Communications team since 2015. I've edited Wikimedia projects since 2006 with my volunteer account, The ed17, and became an administrator on the English Wikipedia in 2009. (The consensus for those administrator tools was determined well before and independent of my role at the Foundation, and I will use them only in my personal volunteer capacity.)
On the English Wikipedia, I have written 27 "featured" articles, with most focusing on warships from a plethora of countries in the early twentieth century. I was also the editor-in-chief of the Signpost, a community news journal about Wikimedia and its projects, from 2012 to 2015.
Currently, I'm working with the Communications department's Audience Engagment team. Previously, I was primarily engaged in writing for and editing the Wikimedia Foundation's blog. My bylined work there includes many interviews with Wikimedia editors, which have helped to humanize the movement to the public and get to the core of what motivates editors.
Edits from with this account are made as part of my employment, while edits from my volunteer account are not. That being said, accidental cross-pollination between the two has and will occur occasionally. Such mistakes will be promptly corrected in a subsequent edit with an appropriate edit summary.
