Participation in scholarship committee and survey idea
Hi, Federico Leva and Martin Rulsch, I send and email one week ago to inform your team than I want to be part of the Scholarship committee but I didn't receive yet reply.
For making the task much more useful and therefore more fun for me, I'm thinking to establish a survey during the Scholarship revision by caching informations from submissions to establish statistical graphs, nationality, ages, and what ever information that should be relevant for a social analyse of the Wikimedia movement. This task could be shared by all the committee staff who want to join the project by creating a collecting on a online platform like google forms or more ethical one. What do you think about this idea ? Lionel Scheepmans (talk) 15:43, 11 November 2015 (UTC)
- Yes, we received your email; thank you for applying. Analysis on applications and followup surveys are usually conducted by WMF after the fact, see m:Category:Wikimania scholarships for some of them (please add the category to other surveys/evaluations where it's missing). The application form should help us spend the money at best rather than collect statistical information, there are still a few days to improve the form. Nemo 15:55, 11 November 2015 (UTC)
- Of course Nemo, the application form should help us spend the money at best rather than collect statistical information, but is there any incompatibility ? It not a big task for me or people who want join the project than fill few case in a form after reading a scholarship submission. The idea is to editing some graphs to make visible informations about people involved in Wikimedia movement. I'm socio-anthropologist and this kind of informations seems for me very usefull to establish guideline in the organisation of our community. If this kind of graph already exist, please tell me where can I found them. Cordially, Lionel Scheepmans ✉ Contact French native speaker 17:38, 11 November 2015 (UTC)
- Maybe you are looking for m:Category:Surveys. Anyway, joining the scholarship committee implies signing an NDA and that will make it easier for you to help produce such an analysis after the fact for the available data. Nemo 17:53, 11 November 2015 (UTC)
Preparations or Goals for Ambassador Volunteers
Hi! Just wanted to check back here if there are a few goals or objectives that have been proposed for the ambassador volunteers. For example, are we pushing for more female applicants, more coverage in social media, etc.? What are the key objectives the ambassadors can help promote as far as the scholarship process? It would be great to be all on the same page and have the chance to create an impact in the applications process this year. Thanks!--Pineapples100 (talk) 20:02, 1 December 2015 (UTC)
