Abstract

Thinking of the large gender gap existent in Wikipedia I was asking myself: Which are the main obstacles for more participation of women? How can we address the gender gap in a positive manner to approach and minimize it? Which are the best strategies to reduce this gender gap? One of my possible answers was to create a friendly wiki-space in Wikipedia in Spanish for support and aid among female users who can contribute to amplify the participation of women in Wikipedia. In this speech I am going to tell how we organized it, which difficulties we had and the results up to this point.
