Abstract

Wikipedia is becoming increasingly subject to being exploited for advertising, promotion, and financial gain. It is also subject to being used to disparage, threaten, intimidate, or harass subjects, or for the creation of simple vandalism and graffiti. The English Wikipedia has two main methods for the review and control of new pages: New Pages Patrol, and Articles for Creation. I present, using live demonstrations of these processes, how these process and their features are used, how their use can be learned and improved, followed by discussion with audience input and feedback from related problems experienced by other Wikimedia projects.
