Español: Ayuntamiento, A Coruña, España English: Front view of the City Hall, also called the Municipal Palace, of A Coruña in Galicia, Spain, during the blue hour. The modernist building is located in the María Pita Square in the center of the city and was built between 1908 and 1912 following a design of Pedro Ramiro Mariño. It was inaugurated in 1927 by king Alfonso XIII. The facade is 64 metres (210 ft) wide and has 43 windows. The ground area of the building is 2,300 m2 (24,757.0 sq ft). The four statues on the third floor represent the four provinces of Galicia — A Coruña, Lugo, Orense and Pontevedra. Over them, in the middle, is the coat of arms of the city. The two dames flanking it symbolize Peace & Industry and Work & Wisdom. The tower in the middle accommodates the clock and the bells, which are made of bronze and tin and weigh 1,600 kilograms (3,527 lb). Galego: Casa do concello da Coruña, Galiza.
